And realised that I had not shown you any pictures of how it all looked. It looked fantastic, our work really looked good together. And Petrus's work in the other gallery looked just amazing.
And now I have the opportunity to share my work with you all.
Putting the 18 artworks out there was a success for me, it meant that all that hard work had payed off and I had developed myself as an artist and established a technique and style in art sculpture, a style of my own that has my unique signature.
It was a real success in that I sold 25% of the art works in the exhibition, and in this economic climate that is a wonderful outcome for an emerging artist.
The great thing about the exhibition is that I met some very interesting people, other artists, art lovers, and new gallery contacts. So the next little while will be busy following all this up.
In the artist floor talk I had an opportunity to explain my vision for this art, where it comes from and where it is heading to, and why. Everything that forms the context of my art and underlies it. The response to my artist floor talk was really encouraging.
Its a solid feeling having established a platform of visual media to expand upon. And it provides a niche that I can now grow with. And to tell you the truth I cannot wait to get back into it.
Again I would like to acknowledge Petrus, working with a dedicated professional who is an exemplary artist was an incredible experience. I really think that this is a success that many artists would aspire to. And I am feeling just so lucky.
Thank you to everyone who came to may exhibition and help to make it so successful.

Congratulations on the successful exhibition. And thanks for showing the last picture, as it gives an idea of the scale of your pieces. I had imagined they were smaller until I saw them beside people.
Oh, wish I could have seen these wonderful organic pieces in the flesh. A great body of work..congratulations.
Congratulations on your success!. Your pieces are stunning and i love the organic nature of each work.
Your right yvette, petrus's work was beautiful as well, and our work really looked good together.

The large main artwork is about my height, and most of the other works are about 60cm tall. so yes vireya most of them are quite big works. And very strong too, and thanks.

thanks lisa, the organic nature of this artwork is something that I have been working on for the past eight or nine months. I have not seen anyone use twigs and grass as a structural base for felt sculpture anywhere, and so I think it is quite new. I also love the organic nature of it, and the expressions captured sculptural forms. Its pretty exciting and I will be making more of these in the near future to develop it further. Can't wait.

oh my gosh, these are fabulous, T! I so wish I could have seen them in person, I'm especially craving to see the colors. May I ask: the piece 'Winter Solstice'...what is the smaller object at its base that I see in the photo? I am intrigued by their connection.
You are definitely on to something. Something unique. I am so pleased for you, this fire that's been lit...
Thank so much christi, the softness of the cone shape at the base relates to the curvature of the tall sculpture in that it contrasts the vertical uprightness of the tall. And it catches the light in a different way. Other than that - they just seemed to belong together. I had a cone shape at the base of three of the sculptures to accompany them.
And yes I think I am onto something very unique here.

Well done T, such gorgeous works here... I echo the wish that I could have seen them in the flesh too.. perhaps one day..
hugs
Congratulations!! You really did a wonderful job!!! I myself know what hard work felting is especially this big, a lot of elbow grease needed. But what I also like is the dyeing with gum leaves (is that the same as eucalyptus?)
T, what a triumph for you! The works look great and I am so happy, but not at all surprised that they sold. Wonderful that you had the opportunity to talk about how they came about also, and meet and greet some fellow creative spirits. It all seems to be coming together for you. Couldn't happen to a more deserving soul! Congratulations.
Whow---so beautiful-congratulations! After a long white period I was thinking about a dark series---and now here I find some of "my ideas" already realized...and how funny- I also used twigs(of very young bamboo)for some of my sculptures..is there really something new outside there in the universe...? ***greetings from La Palma, Anu
